This week at the James Griffin Pub we take you on a journey to a whiskey that is known as “Yellow Spot”.

This bottle will set you back quite a bit, but we think this one is well worth it!
You will notice that the whiskies we are bringing to you are ones that are not mixed and this is the way we recommend all our premium whiskies to be served, albeit maybe add a little water to experience something different!
This 12 year old whiskey has seen it’s life aged in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and Spanish Malaga casks. The wine influence adds a bit of complexity and sweetness giving it extra dimension and complexity.
Look – Light Caramel

Nose – Barley Rich pot still, rich caramel, butterscotch, spice, dried fruit, wheat toast, almonds and vanilla with an underlying sweetness.

Palate – A Barley rich, sherry like sweetness and orchard fruit to create a lovely initial flavor that rolls across the palate. Hints of bananas, spice, citrus zest and toffee
.
Finish – Fruit, Barley and sweetness fade out to toasted bananas and wood on a long slow fade.

Try it here at the James Griffin Pub , it’s €9.00 per 33.5ml serve but it’s definitely one to try for that whiskey lover! It’s a great starter to a fine pint of Guinness by the fire!
